Satellite Direct (from SatelliteDirect.com) is one of the most popular TV show streaming sites on the net. As our previous top-choice in our Online TV Streaming Sites category, Satellite Direct has a great user interface and allows you to download a whole host of popular TV shows from all over the world, however it has fallen from grace recently as other, newer and more advanced TV streaming sites with a greater range of content have come along.
Satellite Direct allows you to stream over 3,500 TV channels from all the most popular US and foreign networks - from 96 countries in all. The download speeds are pretty fast, and some TV shows are even available in HD - however, it is unlikely that your internet connection can handle HD streaming just yet!
Once you've signed up you will immediately be able to access Satellite Direct's TV streaming software, which will enable you to choose from these 3,500 TV channels, including all your favorite networks, and many channels from around the world that are not available on your local cable or satellite subscription. You can even bookmark your favorite channels for easy viewing.
Satellite Direct make some pretty questionable claims on their site - including an alleged quote by "Interactive Media Magazine" that allegedly gives Satellite Direct 5 stars and says that it's "Awesome - Unequivocally the best TV to PC software on the net!" Sounds great, doesn't it? Unfortunately, there appears to be no such magazine as "Interactive Media Magazine" and this quote appears to be made up! Sadly, such made-up endorsements are commonplace on sites like Satellite Direct.
Here's a little tip: if you do mean to subscribe to SatelliteDirect.com then click through from our link below (which pops open the site in a new tab) and then attempt to close that tab - a Satellite Direct pop-up box will ask you if you wish to stay on the current page for a discount. If you select "Cancel" from this pop-up box, then a fictitious agent will start typing in a new pop-up window. Just type in anything back to her as a response and she will give you a link to join Satellite Direct at a 40% discount if you do so right away.
